SUMMER CAMP GUIDE 2020

EARLY REGISTRATION ENDS JUNE 8TH FOR ALL SUMMER CAMPS!
Lunch is available for $45 per week if purchased before camp begins. Lunch can be purchased the week of camp for $12 per day. Students have their choice of cheese pizza, pepperoni pizza, or Jimmy Johns sandwiches (sandwiches are Bellevue only). All lunches come with two slices of pizza or two sandwiches as well as chips and a drink. Lunch can be purchased during the checkout process.
EARLY DROP OFF AND LATE PICK-UP OPTIONS
Early Drop-Off is available between 8:00 - 9:00 AM for no additional charge. Weekly Late Pick-Up is available for purchase from either 4-5 PM for $55 or 4-6 PM for $85 before camp beings. Late pick-up can be purchased the week of camp for $15 per hour or partial hour. Our centers close at 6:00 PM. Late pick-up can be purchased during the checkout process.
Snack cards are available for purchase for $12 per week. Students with a snack card will receive one snack in the morning and one in the afternoon each day of camp. Snack cards cannot be pro-rated, but single snacks are available for purchase through our vending machines in Bellevue and Redmond. Snacks can be purchased during the checkout process.
SUMMER CAMP CALENDAR
Each camp provides an education program tailored to your child's needs through an assessment completed at the beginning of camp. Our instructors challenge students with new material that reinforces a solid foundation and encourages positive life skills.
Chess4Life is a great place to bring friends and make new ones! Every student has room to grow and play while learning valuable life skills in our camps.
ART PLUS CHESS: $349
Provider: Young Rembrandts
Young Rembrandts Art Camp is an exciting way to improve your drawing skills while having fun! Young Rembrandts’ proven drawing curriculum will help you create spectacular color illustrations of a variety of subjects. Each week will have a different drawing focus.
*Transportation is only required in the Bellevue center and will be provided by Bellevue Best in Class.
BADMINTON PLUS CHESS: $369
Provider: Seattle Badminton Club
The Seattle Badminton Club provides a fun, 5-day camp to help juniors learn and better understand badminton. It sets up a foundation for them to improve badminton skills and movements in the future. Our curriculum includes but is not limited to the following areas:
*Transportation to and from Badminton is provided by Chess4Life. Badminton may be held in a morning or afternoon session.
BASEBALL PLUS CHESS: $389
Skyhawks coaches teach the fundamentals of fielding, catching, throwing, hitting, and base running in a fun, positive environment. Athletes learn new baseball skills along with vital life lessons such as respect, teamwork, and responsibility. All participants receive a t-shirt and a player evaluation.
*Transportation to Baseball is provided by Chess4Life. Baseball may be held in a morning or afternoon session.
BASKETBALL PLUS CHESS: $389
This fun, skill-intensive program is designed for beginning to intermediate players. An active week of passing, shooting, dribbling, and rebounding makes this one of our most popular programs. All participants receive a t-shirt, basketball, and player evaluation.
*Transportation to Basketball is provided by Chess4Life. Basketball may be held in a morning or afternoon session.
BEST IN CLASS PLUS CHESS: $349

Best in Class Education's Gifted Youth Camp gives students a chance to stay sharp, learn, and have fun in the summer. Students cooperate and learn collectively during our group activities which include math exercises, math word problems, test preparation, logic exercises, reading comprehension, grammar, vocabulary, creative writing, reading, arts and crafts, and much more. Students practice the lessons with the supervision of helpful instructors. Camps can focus on either Math or English--or both!
*Transportation to Best in Class is provided by Best in Class. Best in Class will be held in the afternoon session.

DRAMA PLUS CHESS: $359
Provider: Drama Kids International of Eastside Seattle
Enthusiastic students who learn to speak out clearly and relate confidently with others will have an inside track to lifetime success.
Drama Kids develops all kids. We’re a place where all children, from the shy to the outgoing can develop at their own pace with plenty of positive encouragement.
Our specialty is using a wide range of unique drama activities to focus the bold, outspoken child and to draw out the quiet child or the inarticulate child and help them reach into themselves to discover their full potential.
Drama Kids International uses our famous copyrighted original curriculum in each class. Lessons are carefully planned so that students can enroll at any time and will never repeat a lesson regardless of when they enroll.

ELEVATED SPORTZ PLUS CHESS: $359

*Elevated Sportz is in the same business complex as Chess4Life so no vehicle transportation is required. Students will be walked back and forth between the two camps by the two facilities' staff.
EMPOWER PLUS CHESS: $519

Public speaking and leadership made fun... yes, FUN! Through interactive games, challenges, and activities "Survivor style" team tribes will learn to lead and team build, “wow” an audience using speaking techniques as they prepare, practice and deliver an effective speech, and play through interactive improvisational activities. Confident leadership and communication are the #1 skills for success in life. Prepare your elementary-age child now for junior high, high school and beyond. Bring a water bottle and sack lunch and get your game on!
This camp begins at 8:30 AM, so students will get an extra half-hour of instructional time each day!
*emPOWER is provided by Grasshopper Enrichment. This camp is hosted at Chess4Life. No transportation is required.
FENCING PLUS CHESS: $429
Provider: Rain City Fencing
Join us this summer for a week of fencing fun! We offer half day, week-long fencing camps for beginners as well as experienced fencers. Camps are a great way for beginners to learn to fence. No experience is required and we provide all fencing equipment. Kids who have taken classes or camps before may be ready for our continuing or intermediate camps. Either way you'll get a chance to improve your skills, make new friends and have fun!
*Transportation to and from Fencing Camp is provided by Chess4Life. Fencing may be held in a morning or afternoon session.
FLAG FOOTBALL PLUS CHESS: $389
Flag Football is the perfect introduction to “America’s Game.” Campers learn skills on both sides of the football including the core components of passing, catching, and defense – all presented in a fun and positive environment. The week ends with the Skyhawks Super Bowl, giving participants a chance to showcase their skills on the gridiron! All participants receive a t-shirt, football, and player evaluation.
*Transportation to Flag Football is provided by Chess4Life. Flag Football may be held in a morning or afternoon session.
GOLF PLUS CHESS: $389
Skyhawks Golf focuses on building the confidence of young athletes through proper technique and refining the essential skills of the game. This camp will focus on the fundamentals of form, chipping, putting, driving and body positioning. To assist in this training, Skyhawks has adopted the SNAG (Starting New At Golf) system to its curriculum. SNAG is specifically designed for the entry-level player; SNAG simplifies instruction so that young players can make an easy and effective transition onto the golf course. No need to bring your own clubs--all equipment is provided. We keep the instructor-to-camper ratio for this program very low, resulting in limited availability. All participants receive a t-shirt and a merit award.

KARATE PLUS CHESS: $349
Provider: Eastside Family Karate
Your child will learn traditional Okinawan Karate in our Redmond Martial Arts Dojo (near the Microsoft campus). This program consists of a combination of karate, safety skills, coordination drills, and fun activities that reinforce that each child is smart, special, strong, and a winner. It offers an effective self-defense program along with a means for character development, discipline and self-esteem.
*Transportation to and from Karate may be provided by Eastside Family Karate or Chess4Life depending on the week. Karate may be held in a morning or afternoon session.
LEGO PLUS CHESS: $349
Chess4Life LEGO Camp is an exciting camp designed to engage your student through individual and group challenges, team building activities, educational activities, and free build time while encouraging fun and teaching Life Skills!
*No transportation is required. Chess4Life provides all materials. LEGO may be hosted in an afternoon or morning session.
MINI-HAWK PLUS CHESS: $389
This baseball, basketball, and soccer program gives children a fun and positive first step into athletics. Through games and activities, campers explore balance, hand/eye coordination, and skill development at their own pace. All participants receive a t-shirt, ball, and a merit award.
*Transportation to Mini Hawks is provided by Chess4Life. Mini Hawks may be held in a morning or afternoon session.
ROBOTICS PLUS CHESS: $399
Chess4Life's new Robotics curriculum will provide a growing environment for students to learn the basic concepts of designing and building a robot!
Robotics PLUS will use LEGO MindStorm robots to explore key Robotics principles and create 1 of 17 different types of robots.
Throughout the week, campers will work in small teams to build and create unique robots. They will compete with fellow students in a Robot race as well as utilizing other robotics tools to engage problem solving skills and planning!
*No transportation is required. Robotics may be held in an afternoon or morning session.
SOCCER PLUS CHESS: $389
Skyhawks was founded as a soccer club in 1979. Thirty years later, we are still the number one choice for parents looking to introduce their children to the fundamentals of the world’s most popular sport. Using our progressional curriculum, your young athlete will gain the technical skills and sport knowledge required for the next step into soccer. Designed for beginner and intermediate players, this camp focuses on dribbling, passing, shooting, and ball control. All participants receive a t-shirt, soccer ball, and player evaluation.

SPACE PLUS CHESS: $499
Join Chess4Life to boldly go where no summer camp has gone before- to the moon!
Students ages 8-12 are invited to join our newest summer camp, the Chess4life Hopeful Engineers Space Association, or CHESA. We are on a mission to design and execute a mission to the moon and back using a simulation of our solar system called Kerbal EDU.
Students will be challenged to solve many of the same problems NASA engineers have been solving for decades in manned spaceflight in a fun and safe environment. How much energy does it take to get to space? How do orbits work? What are all of the different parts of rockets for?
TABLE TENNIS PLUS CHESS: $349
Provider: Seatlle Pacific Table Tennis
Our goal at Seattle Pacific Table Tennis Club is to promote the sport of table tennis in the greater Seattle area. Our 4,000 square-foot facility includes 8 Butterfly Centrefold tables, an 18-foot ceiling, ITTF approved Gerflor flooring, and a friendly, professional environment. We support all levels of players who enjoy the great sport of table tennis. For those seeking formal training, our experienced coaching staff consists of several highly accomplished players.

TENNIS PLUS CHESS: $399
In Skyhawks tennis programs, players learn proper grips, footwork, strokes, volleys, and serves during a series of drills designed to teach skills in a fun and dynamic way. Athletes also learn the rules and etiquette that make tennis an exciting game. Due to limited court space, these programs fill quickly. Participants should bring tennis racquet's, appropriate clothing, two snacks, a water bottle, running shoes, and sunscreen. All participants receive a t-shirt and a player evaluation.

TRACK & FIELD PLUS CHESS: $389
Skyhawks Track & Field combines technical development, fundamental techniques, and safety with a major focus on fun! Using special equipment, our staff teach the standard track & field events: long distance, sprints, relays, shot put, discus, and standing long-jump. Our exercises and drills prepare athletes for a future in cross-country, track & field events, and distance running while inspiring a love for running and being active. Participants put it all together for one, fun-filled day at the Skyhawks track meet! Participants should bring appropriate clothing, two snacks, a water bottle, running shoes, and sunscreen. All participants receive a t-shirt and a merit award.
