Chess4Life Spring Break Camps utilize live interactive lessons and tournament practice where your student will get to explore the nearly infinite world of chess. With multiple levels--Beginner through Advanced--you get to choose which level is right for you! If one level is too challenging or not challenging enough, simply try out the other group

Featuring expert coaches from Chess4Life, instruction will build a solid foundation in young players-beginner to advanced-through fun lessons, practice play, and tournament rounds. Young Rembrandts instructors will finish each day with engaging activities.

Young Rembrandts has been a student favorite for years of Chess4Life camps! Stimulate those brains! Screen time isn’t just watching TV – come draw with Young Rembrandt's and get one and a half hours of developing vocabulary, fine motor skills and art techniques. Best thing? Each time your child takes a class, they will be walking away with a complete piece of artwork.

Please Note - Participants will engage in a 90-minute chess session hosted by Chess4Life, followed by a short break and 90 minutes of Art. A separate Zoom link will be provided for each, Art and Chess, prior to the program start date.

Levels

Beginner

• No chess knowledge needed
  
• This level covers the rules of chess PLUS essential beginning strategies

Intermediate

• Your child should know how the chess pieces move, how to Castle, and checkmate
  
• This level covers powerful chess tactics and builds the skills necessary to successfully win chess games

Advanced

• Your child should understand multiple tactics and checkmate strategies
  
• This level covers advanced tactics, planning and strategic thinking, leading to confidence crafting a plan from any chess position.

• Please be prepared to use Zoom web conferencing app. for accessing the class links
• A LiChess account is needed for any student who wishes to participate in the playtime after the lesson. Create a FREE account at https://lichess.org/signup
  • Lichess is a FREE chess play and learning platform that the coaches will use to deliver lessons, activities, and tournaments.

Chess4Life Online Camp Policies  

Due to the Covid-19 Crisis Chess4life has adopted the following refund policy for Online camps.

$10 Cancellation Fee: Two weeks before the event.

$20 Cancellation Fee: One week before the event. 

After 7PM the FRIDAY before camp begins: No refunds.

If Chess4Life cancels a camp due to low registration, we will transfer or issue a full credit to your account.
